TWELVE YEARS AND COUNTING |
|
Standard Culinary and Technical Skills Training Corp. was organized in May 5, 2008 in the dynamic town of Dasmariñas, which was then swiftly transforming into a vibrant city of south Luzon.
All that SCTS has become in the span of ten years is a credit to the passion and hard work of Dr. and Mrs. Rolando and Susan dela Cruz. Having taught for not less than ten years in prestigious and reputable colleges and universities in Dasmariñas, and with the consistent passion of Ma’am Susan in cooking and baking, the couple was inspired to bring forth a TechVoc-based training center for the Dasmarineños and Caviteños in nearby municipalities. |
SCTS or “Standard” as now fondly known to the locales of the city, started with few basic courses such as one-day Filipino cuisine, two-day International cuisine and seven-day Advanced Baking. SCTS soon offered short courses that qualify trainees in the national assessment and earn them the National Certification Level 2 (NCII), an essential requisite to the growing number of employers here and overseas.
In June 2009, the training center held its first commencement exercises with about two-hundred graduates of Commercial Cooking NCII and Baking and Pastry Production NCII. Graduates of SCTS have proven their competitive worth as they immediately land jobs of their choice at sea and on land, here and abroad. |
